What You Will Learn

Our courses are for parents of young children. They take place in schools, children’s centres and community venues all over Manchester.

  • Build your confidence in the family and in the community
  • Identify your strengths and improve your skills
  • Develop short and long-term goals for the future, including for future work.
  • We run workshops and taster sessions, so come along and find out more. Crèche available.

Parents learn about their children’s education, health and development and practise reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for everyday family life situations. Those with 80% attendance are able to progress onto an accredited ESOL course in one of our adult education centres, following the successful completion of a progress test.

Sessions are centred around the science delivered in Key stage 2 with a focus on practical experiments that can be replicated at home with children by using everyday household items and materials. A variety of interesting topics will be covered including the solar system, electricity, eco-systems and chemical reactions
